Obituary of Ferida Azra Teodosijevic

FERIDA AZRA TEODOSIJEVIC

1941 - 2025

The family of Azra (Ferida) Teodosijevic, (age 83), are saddened to announce her passing on February 28, 2025 at Frederick Hall-Shannex, Fredericton, NB.  Azra was born on December 7, 1941, to Rasema and Omer Hodzic in City of Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. She was the youngest of seven children.

Azra was 22 years old working at a department store when she met the love of her life, Zdravko Teodosijevic, whom she married on August 7, 1963 where they began their life together. They had two daughters, Olivera and Dijana. Azra was a devoted mother, but also a woman with a career which she loved, as manager of a fashion department store.

After the passing of her husband, Azra had moved to Canada in 1997 to be with her daughters, where she found her new home, and friends for life.

Azra’s cheerful personality was truly captivating. She loved to spend time with her family and friendcos, always ensuring everyone felt welcomed and appreciated. Azra had a big heart and a great sense of humor. She loved to laugh, loved music and dance. She was a passionate gardener and really had a knack for growing beautiful flowers and vegetables.  She believed that you could do anything if you set your mind to it and encouraged her children and grandchildren to always try and never give up.  Her greatest joy and happiness was time spent with her two grandchildren, Elena and Alex.  

Azra was predeceased by her husband Zdravko and her brothers and sisters.  She is survived by her daughters Olivera Watson and Dijana Hrkalovic, son in law Bosko Hrkalovic, granddaughter Elena Hrkalovic and grandson Aleksandar Hrkalovic. Azra will be dearly missed by her large and extended family Hodzic, Teodosijevic, Hrkalovic, Erjavec, Stanic, Drazic, Zorlak, Drnda, and Vidanovic.

Azra and her family would like to extend special thanks to Frederick Hall- Shannex staff and Brunswick Street Baptist Church in Fredericton.

Following Azra’s wishes, a celebration of her life will take place at McAdam's Funeral Home, Fredericton, on Sunday, March 9, 2025 from 2 - 4 pm.  Words of Remembrance will begin at 2 pm.
