The family of Maude Aminda (Evans) McNamara is sad to announce her passing on March 3, 2025 at Hospice House Fredericton at the age of 90 years old. Born at the Barony, New Brunswick on June 7, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Leona Evans, and beloved wife to the late Bill McNamara.
Maude will be missed by her daughter, Donna (Terry); sons, Bryan (Carolyn) and Robert (Patty); grandchildren, Craig (Erin), Dustin (Jill), Charlie (Terrah), Ed (Jess), Ben (Sarah), and Kelsey; the sparkle of her eye, great grandchildren, Mae, Seth, Abiella, Aria, Emmett, Eva, Duncan, and Finn; sisters-in-law, Mary Lewis (Neil) and Barb McNamara, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Maude was predeceased by her brothers, Thomas (Shirley), Eldon (Joyce); her sister, Delma Evans and many special cousins.
Maude married the love of her life on August 6, 1955, and they shared 62 years of wedded bliss before he passed away in March, 2018. They experienced many exciting trips together: skiing, trips abroad, cruises, and the best one of all was the trip to the cottage on Grand Lake each year.
An active member in the St. Paul’s United Church, Maude was an integral member of the UCW and was very involved in the Brown Bag Project.
Maude had many interests and hobbies. She enjoyed skiing, golf, painting and knitting, or just simply getting together with her friends for lunch and a friendly “catch-up”. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren meant the world to her. She loved nothing more than having them come to visit.
A visitation will take place at McAdam’s Funeral Home on Thursday, March 13, 2025 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. A Memorial Service will be held at the J.A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Friday, March 14, 2025 at 11:00 am, with Rev. Ellen Beairsto and Rev. Michelle Armstrong officiating. For those unable to attend the service, a livestream will be available at the following link: https://vimeo.com/event/4972552.
