Obituary of Margaret Louise (Duffy) Burgoyne

Louise Burgoyne passed away peacefully at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on November 5, 2025.

Predeceased by her husband, Alfred Burgoyne, and her Duffy sisters (Dorothy, Marie, Ruth) and Duffy brothers (Dave, Don and Mac). Remembered by her daughter Stephanie Burgoyne, sister-in-law Helen Randall, extended Duffy family (Cynthia, Nick, Maddie, Susan, Marilyn, Louise, Marilyn, Leslie, Kim, Kathy, Donna, Nancy, Greg) and Burgoyne family (Kelly, Heath, Michael, Steve, Mitchell, Marilee, Jennifer).

Louise Duffy was born in 1935 on a farm in Nauwigewauk, outside of Saint John, New Brunswick where she grew up. She attended teacher's college in Fredericton, New Brunswick and served as a teacher in Welsford and Fredericton.

In Fredericton, she met and married Alfred Burgoyne, also a teacher. They were married for 45 years and she remained in her Fredericton home after his passing in 2014.

Louise dedicated many years as a volunteer of the Fredericton Music Festival. She enjoyed music, genealogy, sewing and knitting.

The family would like to thank her doctors, nurses, neighbours and Triple C staff for their care over the last several years.
