Obituary of Murray Alexander McEachen

It is with sadness that the family of Murray Alexander McEachen announces his passing at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at the age of 78. Born in Regina, SK, on January 1, 1947, he was the son of the late Allan and Jean (Spence) McEachen.

Murray leaves behind his wife of 54 years, Carol McEachen; daughters, Colleen McEachen and Sheena Page (Philip); grandsons, Brendan Ubsdell and Stewart Page; brother, Douglas Linton.

Murray served proudly in the Canadian Armed Forces for 22 years as a Major with the Royal Canadian Air Force. Following his military career, he worked for the University of New Brunswick and was Manager of Facilities from 1989 to 2002. During his UNB tenure, he studied and was awarded his Masters Degree in History.

Murray loved attending church and was a dedicated member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian for over 30 years, serving on the church committee throughout those years and as an active member of the church choir. He was also a long-standing member of the Oromocto Pipe Band. He enjoyed family get togethers and watching his favourite CFL team, the Saskatchewan Roughriders, play.

Special thank you to the doctors and staff of the Palliative Care Unit at the Chalmers Hospital. Your kindness and compassion will not be forgotten.

There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at 2:00 pm, officiated by Rev. Michelle Armstrong and Rev. Doug Blaikie. The service will be live streamed via Zoom at the following link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/86803766690?pwd=Q2Bv86C7tZ5MieHWeQqwNUYJbZOQIE.1 with passcode 263917.
