Obituary of Elizabeth Lawton Malmberg

Mrs. Elizabeth Lawton Malmberg died on Friday, July 15th, 2022 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton, NB. Elizabeth was born February 25, 1938, in Grand Harbour, Grand Manan, N.B. She was the only child of the late Ross and Maud (Guptill) Cronk. Elizabeth is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Harvey; her 3 children, Anne (Joe) Gushue, Peter, and Sarah (Charles) McCormick; grandchildren, Joseph, Bridget, Patrick, Elizabeth, Anna, Erin, and William, as well as great-grandchildren, Isla, Connor and Emery. She was a graduate of Grand Manan High School. As a Beaverbrook Scholar, she attended the University of New Brunswick BA, BEd (Class of 1960). Elizabeth was an avid reader, a nature enthusiast, a keen gardener and enjoyed playing bridge. She was a longtime member of the Canadian Federation of University Women. Arrangements have been entrusted to McAdam’s Funeral Home. A gathering to celebrate Elizabeth’s life will be held at McAdam’s Funeral Home on Saturday, July 23rd, from 2-4 pm. Interment will take place at a later date on Grand Manan Island. For those who wish, donations in Elizabeth’s memory can be made to the Beaverbrook Scholars Award, the SPCA or a charity of their choice.
