Obituary of Ann Elizabeth McAllister
The family of Ann McAllister of Harvey, New Brunswick, is sad to announce her passing on Thursday, August 4th suddenly at her home. She was 57 years young. She was the daughter of Juanita and the late George McAllister of Fredericton.
Ann’s career began with the Fredericton City Police Department as a 911 operator, and later as a supervisor in Communications, until health problems forced her to leave the place and coworkers she loved. She was also a member of the Fredericton Auxiliary Police.
She was the light of any gatherings: full of fun, with a love of laughter, maker of fabulous jokes and stories (some true), complete with pranks; but always the first to help in a time of crisis. She was greatly loved by her family and also by her friends, especially Gail, Leanne and Dana, Lynn and Mac. She made friends easily and kept those friends for her lifetime. Thank you to Lynn, her neighbor, for helping her so much.
She is survived by her mother, Juanita Hewitson (Jerry); her big “Bro”, Peter (Susan); her special nephew, Michael; her precious niece, Melissa (Domenic), and her new great nephew, Beau, who she already loved so much but had yet to meet. She is also survived by step-brothers, Mike Hewitson (Kathryn), Jeff Hewiton (Nancy), and step-sister, Claudet Hewitson.
McAdam’s Funeral Home has been entrusted with Ann’s final arrangements. There will be no visitation. The service will be held at the J.A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at 2:00 pm with an interment to follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery. Donations to Diabetes Canada, the Salvation Army, or the DunRoamin’ Animal Rescue in Ann’s name would be appreciated by the family.
