I am sending heartfelt condolences to the family of Mr. Lockhart. Mr. Lockhart was my grade school teacher, who I recall being one of my favourite teachers of all time. Many years have passed since my time at St. Dunstans elementary school, my most memorable being when Mr. Lockhart taught our class to play chess with homemade chess boards made of laminated paper and chess pieces stored in ice cream containers. Mr. Lockhart read to our class daily - he read the book, “Where the Red Fern Grows”, a beautiful story about the love and loss of a child’s first love, his dogs. He was an amazing teacher that tried his best to connect with the class. I have never met another teacher as special as Mr. Lockhart.
