Herb was such a great person. His love for family was always in his words, and he had always known what to say to cheer someone up or get people laughing. He loved to have conversation, didn’t matter the topic but if it involved the military you could see the excitement and huge sense of pride in his accomplishments, his career as well as anyone serving. Although I’m sure there were hard times during his service, he would never let on like there was. His minuet by minuet replay of the places he had been or visited, people he served with, recruits he trained, and everyone who in some way was part of his legacy was second to none. Ever since I can remember, Herb was always so proud that I joined the service, and we would sit and chat about the differences on how the military evolved over the years. I’ll be forever grateful to have had the pleasure of calling him my uncle and friend. I’ll miss our visits and chats, “come on in, tell me everything ya know, I’ve got 5 minutes” may he rest in peace. Xoxo
