Obituary of Rita Marie Cyr-Bonga

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rita Cyr-Bonga on January 9, 2023, at the age of 83.

 She is survived by her husband Jan Bonga, step daughters Anna and Valerie and step son Michael. Also surviving her are her brother Joseph and sister Bernadette.

Rita had a rewarding career as a social worker in Montreal from which she retired in 1997. A year later she married her husband Jan. Rita was an artist of considerable skill. She worked with water color, bronze sculptures, made lace and was involved in ecclesiastic embroidery, which became a great passion to her. She also had musical talent. She sang as a member of the Fredericton Choral Society and played violin in the Fredericton Symphony Orchestra.

 We wish to thank the staff at the Chalmers Hospital and the Hospice for the loving care they gave Rita in her final days.

Funeral arrangements are being made with McAdam Funeral Home in Fredericton. A memorial service at Christ Church Cathedral will be held on Saturday,. January 14, 2023 at 11:00 am.
