Kitty, Chris, and Amy, I am so deeply sorry for your loss. Seann and I have you in our thoughts. I fondly remember spending many summer afternoons in the backyard with the kids as well as enjoying Thanksgiving meals at Kings Landing. Peter’s quick wit and intelligence kept us engaged and on our toes. My heartfelt condolences.

We are deeply saddened by the news of Peter’s passing. We have had a long connection with both Peter and Kitty and always enjoyed our time together. Katja met Peter at the long gone International Music store on St Catherine St in Montreal in 1972 when we were completing degrees in Montreal. It turned out that our apartments were very close and we enjoyed many great times during that period (perhaps a little hazy in reflection now). Peter was my Best Man on a very wintry January night in 1975 at a country inn near Knowlton, Quebec. The attached photo was taken on top of Mount Pinnacle near Sutton in 1979, with both families (Kitty on the left) and our two children. One of many very very memorable visits. We will greatly miss you, Peter.
Love Geoff and Katja Freemantle

My heart breaks for you, Kitty, Amy and Chris. This is beautifully written. Peter's kindness and generosity touched so many lives. He was so fun and positive, and will be dearly missed. I believe I met Peter when I sang for the first time in the NB Summer Music Festival. I had just moved back to the Maritimes and it may have been one of my first concerts since that move back home. Peter was working the bar that night, and when I came off stage after singing my last note, he greeted me with his beautiful smile and a big glass of cold beer! And I felt so glad to be home again! That joy and zest for life is what I will remember the most.

I am so sorry for your loss, Chris. What an obituary! What a man! I wish I could have known him, but I know exactly why he was so proud of you. His contribution to youth music in NB reminds me so much of my mother. We can rejoice in the model left by your father and my mother. Please accept my condolences for your loss. I'm thinking of you, with love, Katie

Our condolences to the Bourne family for the loss of husband and father Peter Bourne. I spent about ten years working with him at the department of Agriculture, Aquaculture and fisheries. Peter was always upbeat and a deep well of music knowledge. He had his favourite musik but could expand on many different genres and performers. Kitty, I hope you made it out of 3 South East.

I had the immense pleasure of working in the office next to Peter for many years at the a Department of Education. Peter began as my mentor as he showed me the ropes of working in government, and then became a true friend. His sense of humour, his unbelievable knowledge of obscure trivia and his uplifting attitude made it fun coming to work every day. Rest in peace my friend and wherever you are, those around you are probably having a wonderful time as I always did.

My condolences for the loss of your husband and father. I knew Peter at Fisheries and Aquaculture and he knew my father (Duncan) while working on the new high school in St. Stephen in the early 1980's. I enjoyed working with Peter and as noted by many, enjoyed talking to Peter about music and Montreal. Fond memories.

Dear Kitty, Chris & Amy, our thoughts are with you. How sad and shocked we were to hear of Peter's death. It was been a few years since seeing any of you. I thought I saw Peter from a distance recently while we were both at the superstore, I regret not calling out to him! I always enjoyed Peter's upbeat personality, his positivity, his willingness to be involved. Our involvement at the same time as FFF with Syrian families brought us in contact again. I will fondly remember sharing this experience with you & Peter. May his light and love surround & comfort you as you navigate the days ahead and grieve his absence.

Dear Kitty, Amy, and Chris, I was so sad to hear of Peter’s passing. His genuine interest in so many things and his gregarious nature were a delight. He spoke with such enthusiasm of your pursuits whenever we crossed paths. He proved himself to be a wonderful neighbour, and showed his support of community in many ways. My deepest sympathies to you and the family members I don’t know.

Deepest condolences to all who loved Peter, especially his family. I'm so saddened to hear of this untimely loss of such a wonderful man. A true lover of animals and understander of cats. A joyous and fun-loving and warm person. I'm sending as much comfort and love as possible to the family, and raising a glass tonight for Peter, alongside Sweet Pea (whom Peter and Kitty cat-sat for me in Verdun). Much love to everyone at this difficult time.

Dear Bourne family, I’m so sorry for your loss. Peter will always be remembered as a gregarious character and a friendly face in the neighborhood. The first time I met him was the first winter we live in the hood (over a decade ago). I was alone while John was in Manitoba caring for his father and we had just received 30 cm of snow over night - on top of the already 6ft tall snow banks. I had just spent 2 hrs shoveling the driveway for the 3rd morning in a row only to turn around and watch the gratter dump a heavy load right in the driveway. I broke down in tears only to hear Peter on the other side of the snowbank telling me he was there to help. We couldn’t see each other and we had never met but I knew we would be fast friends after that day. I know his memory will live on through his family. Please know I’m thinking about all of you and I’m here to support whatever you need.

So sorry to hear of Peters passing and the family loss. Peter and I had several chats on a range of topics, over the years while he worked in government. During coffee breaks he always had to time to to discuss, hockey, politics and his family. Always cheerful and of course witty. Condolences to Kitty and the children he will be missed dearly.
