We have many fond childhood memories of Mr. Thorne growing up in the neighbourhood and at Brunswick St Church, spending time in your home and at your cottage, and car pooling to Brownies and Junior Choir practice. To Shirley and family Saddened to learn of Gordon’s passing. I learned that our birthdays were only a month apart both born in 1929. You were a great Christian family and such wonderful friends and neighbours. The last time that I saw you was at a funeral at Brunswick St. Baptist church. You both were looking well at that time. I have been a resident of York Care since May of 2022. Hollie is still at the Condo with caregivers. I read with interest about your family and where they all live now. Nice to hear from you. Gordon was 94 years and dressed him self the day before he went to the hospital for less than 2 weeks. He kept busy with jigsaw puzzles and had a very sharp mind and memory.

Our sympathy to Shirley, family and many friends at the passing of Gordon. I got to know Gordon while I served as pastor to seniors at Brunswick Street Baptist Church. I was welcomed in the apartments of Gordon and Shirley on several occasions. The Lord Jesus will provide the comfort, encouragement and strength of your faith to travel your life journey in Gordon's absence. Ralph & Peggy Irving.

Remember those visits and they were appreciated. Gordon kept busy doing jigsaw puzzles and was in hospital less than two weeks at 94 years.
