I was Sassi's hairstylist for a short time. She always lit up the salon when she walked in. She made such an impression on me that I was thinking of her today and looked her up, and I'm very sad to hear the news. My condolences to her family. She was so easy to love.

I am so sorry for your loss. I met "Sue" years ago and later had the chance to act in a play she wrote and directed. Loved her laugh and sass.

Many times over the years I was reminded of an attitude of gratitude following conversations with Sassi and as I read her posts. I visited Sassi (Sue) a few weeks ago at the Hospice. We had a great talk. While I visited her there was no complaining just calm acceptance. My thoughts and prayers go to her daughter Amanda and family and also to her life long friend Patricia (my daughter)and all her friends she met along life's way. God keep you strong.

I first met Sassi when I worked with her mother at the Fredericton Food Bank. Years later, our paths crossed again when I started working at the John Howard Society. She shared a lot of the same characteristics as her mom - she was a great listener, she cared deeply about people and she loved to talk and share stories. Every time I would run into her, a hug would be shared and she would always tell me how her daughter and grandkids were doing. Amanda, I am so sorry for your loss - your mom touched so many lives, and I was certainly one of those people. She will be missed.

My deepest condolences and syupthathys to her family. Sassy was a friend in the truest sense of the word. Someone who offered her time and knowledge when in need. " Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord. And let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace"".

One of the last conversations we had was about her book The Grace Discourses. She asked for my impressions and I told her it was a great memoir but I didn’t care for the way she depicted her time with the John Howard Society. I spent almost two years working with Sassimint and she minimized the impact she had on the adult learners in her class. She went above and beyond the role of teacher or facilitator. Sassi did her best to make everyone that came through the doors feel welcome. She had this ability to connect with people and make them feel special, seen, and heard. Life sometimes gets in the way and friendships fade. That never happened with us. We could go a year and not see each other and it was as if no time had passed, we would just pick things up where we left off. Sassimint, I don’t think you’ll ever know just how many lives you impacted. I will miss you dear friend.

We shared our friendship, hopes and dreams, our deepest secrets as youngsters. Life led us in different directions until we reconnected more than 30 years later and we continued our friendship. I want to express my deepest sympathy to her family and friends. I shall miss her cheerful calls and her wonderful advice and friendship. She was "one in a million" and the best of souls. She always ended our calls by saying "take care of your little self Kath" and I want to wish her the same in her journey. I'd hold her tea but I never was domesticated and I would surely spill it. I know she would only laugh and make a wee joke about it. Take care of your little self Susie.... OK?

Sassi was a true friend. She believed on truth and would tell you promptly not to waste her time being full of self. She had a kind and loving heart that came with an enormous amount of gratitude. She adored her family and all her program family. She will be missed dearly by those of us who were fortunate to know her. God speed my friend until we meet again love and hugs Ellie F

Every memory of my time with Sassi was special. Never at a loss for words of laughter, joy, truth and peace, she surrounded herself with high trusted friends and family. Her loved ones sang her home. She taught me many lessons, the most important of which was to shed light and love as often as possible.
