Obituary of Claude Joseph Morrison
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Claude Joseph Morrison on November 5, 2020 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital after a long fight with Cancer. Born on June 17, 1946 in Doyles, Newfoundland, the son of the late Wilfreda (McIsaac) Clayton.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of 51yrs, Elizabeth Aurelie Morrison, children Jennifer Savoie and Stewart Morrison (Anita), his cherished grandchildren Arthur Alexander Savoie and Emma Elizabeth Morrison, his sister Susan Boudreau and extended family.
Claude treated all people fairly, he always saw the person and not the labels they were given. He loved to chat and joke and make people laugh. He cared for animals and always had a pet in his home.
Claude had a creative soul and was formally trained in photography, weaving and drawing. He was a champion ballroom dancer, teaching dance at Arthur Murray’s in Montreal. He became a very good cook and enjoyed making his own wine. Claude was adventurous, travelled when he could, and explored other cultures through cuisine and art. He loved motorcycles and dreamed of riding across his home province of Newfoundland.
In keeping with Claude’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service. For those who wish, donations in Claude’s memory may be made to CARMA or The Terry Fox Foundation.
