Obituary of Pauline Mary Crawford

We are saddened to announce the passing of Pauline Crawford, of Hanwell, NB, at the age of 104 years. She passed away at the Dr. Everett Chalmer’s Regional Hospital on September 21, 2023, with her family by her side. Born in Nashwaaksis, NB, on June 28, 1919, she was the daughter of Donald and Cora (Brewer) MacNaughton.

Pauline is survived by her son, Peter Crawford (Elaine) of Hanwell, NB; daughter, Mary-Jane Yerxa of Mazerolle Settlement, NB; grandson, Jason Crawford (Jacquie Hill) of Fernie, BC; great-granddaughters Hailey Crawford and Alexis Graves of Fredericton; step great-grandson Josh Aubé of Calgary, AB; sisters-in-law Ferne MacNaughton of Fredericton and Melba Crawford of Gagetown, NB, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Frank Crawford; grandson Andrew Crawford, and her siblings, Joyce Phair (Walter), John MacNaughton (Doris), Stuart MacNaughton (Macrena), Doris O’Hara (James), and Karl MacNaughton.

The family would like to thank Dr. Kara Allan, the staff of the New Brunswick Extra-Mural Program, and the special girls from Harvey Outreach. As Pauline would say, “Thank you, thank you, thank you, and thank you again!”

A funeral service will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 512 Charlotte Street, Fredericton, on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at 1:00pm, with Rev. Darryl Levy and the Ven. John Sharpe officiating. A reception in the church hall will follow, after which a private family interment will be held at the Forest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the NB Lung Association, the Heart & Stroke Foundation of NB, or a charity of the donor’s choosing.
