Dear Cockburn Family, My deepest condolences on the passing of a great woman and friend. Mardi befriended me when I moved to NB in 2011 and I was privileged to spend time with her at many special events and celebrations and at our respective homes. She was very supportive of women, and women in leadership. Although I have not spent much time with her as of late, I will miss her and our friendship.

Condolences to the family and friends of Mardi. Members of the Performing Arts in our community will forever be grateful for Mardi's support . She was chair of the Theatre New Brunswick Board of Governors for many years and worked tirelessly to maintain TNB as the only English touring professional theatre company in Canada. She had the tenacity, the vision and the passion to make theatre available to the people of New Brunswick for over 50 years. What a legacy!

It was my great privilege to know and work with Mardi through our UNB connections. I admired her commitment to her alma mater, her energy, her unfailing enthusiasm and her resilience. She was a great contributor to every organization she was involved in, especially but not only UNB. She was held--deservedly--in very high esteem and will long be remembered for the extraordinary example she set for those who served with her across the community and who were her friends.

Dear Bill, Beth and Blair, please accept our deepest sympathies on the death of your beloved mother, Mardi. Bill, last week you let us know that you mom was near the end of her life. Sadly, we waited too long to drop over to say goodbye. We have such fond memories of Mardi as an active UNB alumna, including being a class reunion organizer extraordinaire, as a traveller on our UNB alumni tours and as a friendly neighbour and all round good friend. Mardi lived a full and rich life. It is heartening to know that Mardi is now with your father, her parents and her best friend, brother Pat. We will miss Mardi but, like you, we will have happy memories of her for the remainder of our days.

Bill, Beth, Blair and family, Your Mom was a very lovely, caring and kind person, who certainly had gusto for life. I remember when I met her for the first time, oh so many moons ago, she welcomed me as if she had known me all my life. Whenever Beth and I were in Fredericton at the same time, we usually took her out for a meal where she shared many stories and wanted to hear our stories too. Your Mom will be missed by many but especially by you. Phillip and I will keep you in our prayers and thoughts....may the Good Lord send angels to stand watch while you grieve.
