Obituary of Patricia Ann Howatt

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Patricia Ann Howatt (Wood) on Saturday, November 21, 2020. Born June 7, 1936, in Shirley Settlement NB, she was the 13th of 14 children born to the late George and Sadie Wood of Oromocto, NB. Pat spent her formative years in Oromocto before marrying the late Windsor William Howatt in 1953 and moving to the "Hill" in Fredericton, NB, to raise their family. She always welcomed neighbors and friends into their home on Chestnut St. for meals, card games and visits where she would have fresh bread and chocolate chip cookies in ample supply. She attended St. Paul’s United Church, enjoyed knitting, reading, cooking and spent countless hours delighting in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a strong, selfless, caring person who was happiest when surrounded by her family. She was a great support to her husband throughout the years and ensured that those around her were happy and well taken care of. She leaves behind two siblings Ivan Wood (Beverly) of Oromocto, NB, and Bonnie Heath (Ken Whiteside) of Hamilton, ON; three sons, Eric (Marilyn), Tim (Suzanne Desrosiers), and Mark (Audrey Cernivz); six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. At her request, there will be no visitation or funeral. We would like to thank the staff of Windsor Court and Dr. K. Van Middlesworth, for their kindness and caring of Mom over the last few years. For those who wish, remembrances can be made to the NB Alzheimer Society or a charity of the donor's choice.
