Obituary of Mary Catherine Lynch

The family of Mary Catherine Lynch regret to announce her death which occurred November 6, 2023 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Mary was born in Barnaby River, NB, the daughter of Richard and Lucy Maloney.

Following her graduation from high school, she completed a secretarial course and headed to Fredericton to work for the government. It was here that she met her future husband, Neill F. Lynch. After her children were grown, she returned to work at the Harriet Irving Library as a library technician.

She is survived by her children and spouses Michael Lynch (Susan), Colleen Hamilton (Clark), Kevin Lynch (Wendy), Shawn Lynch (Janet), and child by choice, Karen Foscarino, her grandchildren Matthew Lynch (Penny), Laura Dooley (Jarred), Lily Hamilton (Gisele Lundrigan), Maegan Lynch (Marc Branchaud), Scott Lynch, Adam Lynch, Kelly Parrell, Justin Parrell (Nikki), her great grandchildren Pepper and Poesy Dooley, Kyle and Chelsey Batson, Grayson, Connor, Myles Parrell, her great great grandchildren Landyn and Paisley Batson, her brothers Edward Maloney, Martin Maloney (Shirley), Wayne Maloney (Ina), as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Neill Lynch, her parents, Richard and Lucy Maloney and her brother William "Bill" Maloney.

She was a life member of the Greater Fredericton Women’s Institute, a member of Holy Family Parish and proud to be from the Miramichi. Mom loved her pets, and enjoyed watching all the birds and squirrels living in her backyard.

The family would like to thank Dr. Blyth, the exceptional staff of 3SW and all staff who assisted in Mom’s care.

Mary's visitation will be held at McAdam’s Funeral Home on Friday, November 10, from 7:00 - 9:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Holy Family Catholic Church - St. Kateri Tekakwitha Parish, Hanwell Road, on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 1:00 pm with Fr. Bill Brennan as celebrant. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of  Mary Lynch to the Chalmers Foundation or the S.P.C.A..
