I lived with Rob in my early 20s he had myself and a gf living in the upstairs of his house to look after it for him while he was away working. Rob became very quickly like family, also being from NB getting to hangout with him when he was home was like having a bit of NB out west. His kindness and generosity was limitless and I watched him make friends with ease and constantly help any friend in need. One of my favourite memories of him is when we went to the city shopping one weekend and he bought a hot tub for the house. He took me with him and we joked about haggling with the salesman. The whole trip was filled with laughter and conversation about the things we missed most about home. The world is a little less kind without Rob in it. He will be missed. Sending condolences to his family.

Dear Lauriane and Andrew, it is with a heavy heart that I write this message. My sincere condolences! Robert and I grew up together and although we have lived worlds apart for many years I still remember him and our friendship very fondly! I remember teaching him golf, playing hockey on the Little rink and his love for Boston! He will not be forgotten!

To Lauraine and the extended Hoyt family-- We feel so fortunate to have known Rob and to have shared so many fun memories on vacations in Punta Cana (and most recently at the lake in Fosterville, NB) with him. He was a truly wonderful friend and such a joy to spend time with. He will always be remembered by us with the greatest fondness and we will miss him greatly. Our thoughts are with you from Boston and we will always cheer for the Boston teams in his memory. May he rest peacefully. Sincerely, Elinor and Erik Kostanski

Robert was a wonderful guy. I graduated with his brother Andrew and Robert worked in the sport card shop for my dad. He was funny, kind, and full of humility. A kind soul that is really gone far too soon. My deepest condolences to Andrew and Lorraine and the rest of the family. This one really hits close to home for me. As a Habs and then Penguins fan at the time, the arguments over Robert’s Bruins were a good way to kill an afternoon over trading cards at the shop with him. If you knew Andrew or were around Andrew, you knew Robert and were around Robert. They were two brothers that came as a package deal when a good time was to be had.

I am a friend and coworker of Rob. To the Hoyt Family, I’m so sorry for your loss, I’m going to miss him too. I wish you peace and comfort as you grieve.
Rob, I know you will still be chirping my Edmonton Oilers from the big screen up there.
Rest in peace my friend.

Condolences to the Hoyt family! Rob was a good friend, co-worker, I will always cherish the time we spent playing cards, board games in camp and the hospital laughing and chirping each other.
