Our sincere condolences to Dan and the rest of the Nicholson family on the passing of Jim. He was a valued researcher who worked with me on many scientific projects for over 30 years. Over his career he became a leader in livestock research throughout Canada. He had the vision to create and manage the livestock and crops sections at the Fredericton Research Station that made many contributions to agriculture in the Maritimes. He was a wonderful collaborator and dedicated leader in his scientific field. We will miss him.

Steve and I are very sorry to miss Jim’s service. I have known Jim and Betty and the family since the days of Woodfield Cresent - a wonderful place to grow up , where neighbours looked after other people’s kids and we roamed Sunshine gardens and Odell park without a care. Jim’s garden was famous as was his later garden at Maquapit. ( there may have been a few thing missing after Betsy and our gang had a sleepover/ nothin better than a stolen carrot in the middle of the night).
Jim was an kind and humble man. What he said was worth listening to.
We reconnected at the lake years later, where he and Betty allowed us to rent the smaller cottage. We always arrived to a bouquet of fresh flowers and a bottle of wine. When fresh vegetables were picked from the garden, some always ended up on our steps. After my mom passed away, a hug from Betty made her feel closer.
Jim, I hope you rest in peace.
Dan, Betsy, Andrew and Arnold, I hope it is some comfort that your parents were loved by their community.

My husband and I lived in Sunshine Gardens for 20+ years, just around the corner from the Nicholsons. Jim and Betty were wonderful neighbours and we attended several neighbourhood parties at their home. I always enjoyed walking our dog past their lovely garden. Our condolences to the family for their loss and hope that happy memories are a comfort at this difficult time.

To the Nicholson Family
My sincere condolences on the passing of your amazing Dad and Grandfather. As I always pictured Betty as the epitome of a Lady, your Dad was the consummate Gentleman. My late husband, Brian, was thrilled to be Jim's Stick curling partner and they won a Provincial Championship.Jim loved to talk about a wide variety of subjects but he was always most animated when he talked about his family. He was so proud of each of you.
Hold dear all the wonderful memories you have all shared with your Dad throughout the years.
