'Kitty' ... wondrous, joyful 'Kitty' ... indeed, a mainstay of 'our' community ... without any question, knowing full well that our youngsters walking from either Connaught Street Elementary or George Street Junior High to roam about with their basketballs and our family cat, 'T.J.' in our back yard on George Street, with occasional basketball bouncing into Peter and Kitty's garden ... no worries ... 'we' were a gathering of humble, loving folks and 'Kitty' remained in the midst of it all ... of it all ... Her free-spirit remains ... Peace Jane Stewart

I worked for many years with Peter and he knew my sons well and spent a couple of month at the Chalmers hospital where I talked with her a bit. Kitty's and my mobility issues at that time kept our discussions short but she always greeted me with a great smile when I passed her room. She was on her computer a lot which must helped her to satisfy her always inquisitive mind. Fare well Kitty and my condolences to the family. George Maicher

I met Peter and Kitty while my then husband Bruce Harper and I were in Fredericton in the PhD programme. I was in classes with her, notably Mary Rimmer’s 19th century British Literature class-- Gender, Property and Inheritance. I remember her hospitality. We spent at least one Thanksgiving there with a large group of fellow grad students and others, and I guess Bruce and I would be counted among those who had no family and were drawn into the fold. So sorry to hear this news. .While I only met Kitty a few times Peter and I were close fiends from our days in Thetford and stayed in touch on a continuous basis for over 75 years. He spoke so highly of Kitty over the years and she seemed to be a rock of support for him - please accept my thoughts and condolences at a difficult time for the family. Doug Campbell

A beautifully crafted obituary of you mum, Chris and Amy. We know that Kitty was always Peter's rock, and we are forever thankful for that. You can depend on me to join your celebration of Kitty at Lake Simcoe in 2024. In the meantime, I'm sending light, love and prayers for you both and for Julie. God bless! xxxoo
