My mother Kathy (Keirstead) Richardson was a childhood friend of Carolyn in Hampton. She was often invited along with her family on trips etc. It was nice to get to know Carolyn a bit when my family moved to Fredericton and we joined Brunswick Street.
My condolences to the family

Carolyn helped out at the Brunswick Street Church Library alongside me for some years. She was such good company, with a great attitude and also always willing to help. A beautiful person inside and out, I look forward to seeing her again some day.

It is very sad to hear of Carolyn's passing. We were the same age - which we made jokes about - taught at Multicultural for many years together, lived in New Maryland for some years in synch, and shared a love of adventure, both teaching overseas. We kept loosely in touch, and when I was back in Fredericton to retire she took me out in her car to show me all the new parts of the city. Our last conversation was over the phone, but she spoke frankly about going with her family to choose a nursing home. I have such a lot of respect for her. She was enormously proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. I extend my most sincere condolences to her whole extended family.

Carolyn's loss is particularly difficuly loss for me, coming on the heels of the loss of my biological mother. Carolyn has been my mother-figure since 1984. That summer, I arrived in Canada from Ghana to attend graduate school at UNB, Frederictopn. The transition had been rough: I arrived on a one way ticket, with 2 changes of clothes, and about $200 cash. Carolyn and Bob absorbed me into their family, fed and clothed me. Most imprtantly, they taught me "North American values": values that have served me well in the past 40 years.
Although I move to the US to comeplete my eduction, I have kept in itermittent contact. I had planned to call her on Christmas Day (in 2 weeks) as a surprise.
Melanie, Trevor, Bob, grandkids and great-grand kids, please accept my heardfelt condolences. I pray that the Goold Lord strenthens you, gives you wisdom, and his "Shekina".
May Carolyn's beautiful soul rest well in Paradise, May she receive the crown for all her hard work in Christ.

Dear Melanie and Paul, Trevor and Tina and families,
I am so sorry to hear about your Mom's passing. She and I went to high school together and have kept in contact through all the years since. I talked with her after she went into the hospital and then today I heard she had passed on to Heaven. I know that now she is whole and rejoicing with the Lord she loved. Treasure your memories. I am sorry I can't be there for the funeral but am praying for each of you.
Love, Donna Myers

Dear Melanie, Trevor, Bob, and family,
We have so many wonderful memories of Carolyn, our two families shared so much together over the years. She was a kind, thoughtful, and generous friend (and motherly figure), always there for our family whenever we needed her love and support. Carolyn's volunteer contributions to the community of Scotch Village played an integral role, during a time when it was a flourishing community full of activities, where she led Girl Guides, youth groups, church musical productions & choirs, and taught many of us at Brooklyn Elementary School. We all learned so much from her, truly a role model for many. She will be greatly missed but will live in our hearts forever. Sending much love during this difficult time.
Love,
Lisa, Gertrude, and family. XOXO

To the family of the late Carolyn Johnson, I send my deepest sympathy to you all in such a great loss. I much enjoyed our sharing our interest in genealogy and discovering our ancestral connection through her mother's side. Also enjoyed our chats at the gospel festivals held at Rusagonis for many summers. Carolyn excelled in stewardship to society, rendering her gift of compassion and goodwill to all, especially in ministering the gospel in foreign lands. Her peaceable and loving nature was her trade mark and will be remembered for years to come. May God bless you all in the days ahead as you grieve your loss.
Sincerely, Alan W. Mersereau

I am so saddened to hear this today. Mrs. J was a phenomenal woman, mom, chef, and influencer (before there was such a thing). While a teen, I had the privilege to have known her home as my second place. I will always cherish the wonderful memories I have of Mrs. J. She will be forever missed. My condolences to the family.
