Obituary of Kimberly Diane Day

The family of Kimberly Diane Day of Maugerville, wishes to announce her sudden passing on December 14th, 2023 due to complications from pneumonia. She was born on July 16th, 1969 in Fredericton, New Brunswick. She will be greatly missed by her mother, Sandra Day; her sisters, Jennifer Mott (Dale), Lisa Jones (Jeremy) and brother, Andrew Day (Kelly). In addition to her mother and siblings, she will be deeply missed by her nieces and nephews, Jasmine, Zachary (Reilly), Thomas, Carrie (Dylan) Emily and Olivia. Although Kimberly was a proud aunt, she was even prouder to be a great aunt to Charli, Zach and Reilly’s daughter. Alongside her family, Kimberly will be fondly remembered by her best friend and colleague, Denise Mayer and lastly, her pug, Pixie.

Kimberly is predeceased by her father, Raymond Day; maternal grandparents, Donald and Bertha Morton; paternal grandparents, Arthur and Greta Day; and special aunt, Myrna Wilkinson.

Kimberly studied Early Childhood Education at Sherdon College in Oakville, Ontario. During this time, she worked as a Nanny for the Currie Family, where she resided for five years. Despite the love of being a Nanny, she couldn’t stay away from her family and home, thus moving back to Maugerville, NB. Shortly after, Kim became employed at Lincoln Elementary Community School as an Educational Assistant, where she selflessly dedicated 23 years. Kim was wonderful at what she did and had a true touch for working with children.

When she wasn’t working, Kim spent many hours volunteering. She was a dedicated member of the Maugerville Women’s Institute, Elm City Quilt Guild and honorary member of the Maugerville Development Council.

When Kim took vacation, she loved to travel with family. Her favorite destination of choice was Cuba. Her travelling companion was none other than her mother, Sandra. Kim was best known for her big heart, kind soul and gentle spirit. She was someone who always wanted to brighten the lives of everyone around her with love.

A visitation will take place at McAdam’s Funeral Home on Monday, December 18th, 2023 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. A memorial service to celebrate Kim’s life will be held in the J.A. McAdam Chapel following the visitation at 2:00 pm. For those unable to attend the service, a livestream will be available at the following link: https://vimeo.com/event/3970300  Interment will follow the service at the Maugerville Baptist Cemetery.

For those who wish to make remembrances in the form of donations please have them made out to the Student Breakfast Program at the Lincoln Elementary Community School.
