It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Stephen Douglas Parks at the DECH in Fredericton on January 1, 2024 at the age of 59. Steve was the son of the late Jacquelyn and James Parks.

Steve leaves behind his fiancé Cynthia Fletcher, sons Sam Parks (Shelby) of Fredericton, and Alex Parks (Christine) of Grand Falls. Also left behind is his faithful four legged canine sidekick Marley.

Steve was born and raised in Minto where he met and maintained life long friends who were with him during his final journey.

Steve received his undergrad and grad degrees from UNB and took up a career in education.

He recently retired after years of teaching both in the Northwest Territories and at various schools in the Fredericton area.  He also spent time on projects for the Department of Education as a math specialist.

The family gives thanks and appreciation to Dr. Burnell and Dr.Naz of Saint John Regional and to all staff of the oncology unit. Also, thanks to Randy McQuade who gave his time for several days driving Steve back and forth to Saint John to receive treatment.
