Obituary of Brenda Mae Spencer
Brenda Mae Spencer, 72 of Lincoln, New Brunswick, passed away on the evening of January 5, 2024, surrounded by family during a brief stay in the ICU at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital.
Brenda was born in Boiestown, New Brunswick to parents Harold and Hilda (Munn) Rice. She attended Upper Miramichi Regional High School.
After marrying and raising two children, she enjoyed caring for elders in the community working over 10 years as a caring homemaker.
Brenda enjoyed oil painting and taking part in local art classes held by local and passing artists. She was very proud to have one of her paintings hung in the Beaverbrook Art Gallery as part of a provincial art competition selection.
She loved spending any time she could with her four grandchildren, beating them many times during Star Wars Monopoly marathons while using her Darth Vader game piece.
Brenda was a home body who enjoyed her flower and vegetable gardens, but her favorite place was a certain bench in St. Andrew’s where she could often be seen knitting and enjoying the energy of the Bay of Fundy after she was done picking the beach.
Brenda always returned home to her loyal cats, Lily and Lucy, her constant companions after the death of her second husband Clifford Wilmont Spencer of Parker Ridge, New Brunswick, with whom she shared 20 years of marriage.
She is survived by her son, Christopher (Leah); daughter, Terri and her chosen daughter, Tammy; grandchildren, Madison (Bryden), Mackenzie (Justin), Hayden (Chloe), and Karlee; sister, Ruth (George); brother, Harold (Louisa), brothers-in-law, Gordon (Judy), Morton (Susan), Melvin (Donna); sisters-in-law, Rowena and Sharon; many nieces and nephews. Brenda was predeceased by her parents, Harold and Hilda; her husband, Clifford; brothers-in-law, William and Wayne; sister-in-law, Darleen; and by her nephews, Jason and Dana.
There will be no visitation or service. For those who wish donations in Brenda's memory may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
