It is with profound sadness that the family of Donald Demmings announces his death at the  Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at the age of 69.  Born in Minto, NB, he was the partner of Julie Benoit of Fredericton.

In addition to his loving partner, Julie Benoit, Don leaves behind his mother, Connie (Hein) Demmings; sons, Eric Jaillet (Alexis Penner) and Luc Jaillet (Danica Crystal); siblings, Penny Demmings and Dana Demmings (Marie Clohosy); his special little girl, Olivia, or “Miss. O”, as he affectionately called her; niece and nephew, Samantha (Demmings) Kochhar (Krishan) and Clayton Demmings; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and extended family members. Don was predeceased by his father, Clayton Demmings.

Don’s professional career began in the early 70’s as a manager for McDonald's restaurant in Saint John, NB. Later he worked with Ron Moore travelling around the world in the investment industry. In 1983, Don became a Realtor and operated a very successful Century 21 franchise. He was active with the Real Estate Board of Fredericton and was a Past President. Later he worked at Home Depot and was known as “the tool guy”. Lastly, Don was a Senior Broker for Sunbelt Business Brokers

Don was a proud Mason and a Shriner. He became a Mason in 1985 and joined the Shrine where he became the Potentate in 2016. He worked tirelessly as the transportation coordinator for Fredericton and surrounding areas assisting in getting the kids to the hospital. He always said “it’s all about the kids”.
