Laraine Scott

Obituary of Laraine Marina Scott

The family of Laraine Marina Scott are saddened to announce her passing on February 4, 2024 at the Dr. Everett Calmers Hospital.

Laraine will be greatly missed by her children, Paul (Sue), Bev (Brian), Richard (Mike), Mary (Andrew), and Theresa (Wayne); her eleven grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents; her loving husband, Kenneth; brothers, Fred and Joe Tanner; and her young son, Kenny.

Laraine lived life to the fullest. She was passionate about many things that she was involved with over the years: Birthright, her bridge club, the Thomas Dance Group, and her 22 years spent in Florida through the winter months, all the time acquiring a large group of very special friends. Laraine was also an amazing crafter who won many awards for her talented work! She was a sweet, kind soul who loved to help anyone in need.

Her greatest love was her family. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved spending time, especially with her great grandchildren who will miss her greatly.

Laraine’s faith was a guiding force in her life. She was a longstanding member of the Holy Family Parish and spent many years singing with the church choir.

We would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Eden Retirement Villa for their amazing care over these past years. We would also like to thank the wonderful staff, doctors, and nurses at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital who showed great compassion in Laraine’s final days.

Arrangements have been entrusted to McAdam’s Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations made in Laraine’s name to Birthright would be appreciated.
