Obituary of Wayne Morris Reicker
It is with broken hearts that the family announces the passing of Wayne Morris Reicker on February 9, 2024 at the Oromocto Public Hospital. Born December 21, 1942 to the late Borden and Bridget (Morrissey) Reicker. “Uncle” Wayne had a huge heart, especially for horses and he enjoyed their company for several years. If you ever needed a racehorse’s stats or a draft’s bloodlines he could tell you. Some of his favourite memories are the ones he made while helping in the show barns with Beaverdam Percherons.
Uncle Wayne had a wealth of knowledge, he was an avid reader, and he enjoyed Western movies. He was a great story teller and loved the chance to “stir the pot” or tease a loved one.
Born in Saint John, NB, he moved to Fredericton as a young boy, then to Beaverdam, and, in later years, his mother and he spent some time in Midland. After that they moved to Rusagonis where Wayne stayed for his senior years with the help and support of his homemaker, Kelly, until he moved once more to Enhanced Living in Oromocto were he got a new lease on life. He enjoyed all his time with the great staff there. The family would like to thank all the nurses and care team who helped him all along the way. He was honoured to be a great-great-great uncle and cherished all the “kids” in his life.
Uncle Wayne was pre deceased by his mother and father; brother, Donald (Janet, dec), sister, Lois Howe (Ross, dec); nephews, Edward Howe and Kenneth Howe (Linda); and niece, Patricia Reicker.
He is survived by his nieces, Susanne Mitchell (Stan), Elizabeth Macintosh (Allen), Jennifer Reicker, Judy Reicker (Jason) and special niece-in-law Linda Howe (Kenny), along with several great nieces and nephews.
