Obituary of Duncan Mugford

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Henry Duncan Mugford of Lincoln NB, on February 17, 2024. Born on June 2, 1934 in Sydney Mines, NS, he was the son of the late Harry and Mary Mugford. 

Duncan will be missed deeply by his fiancĂ©, Shirley Hunter of St. Martins, NB; children, Ann Marie (Doug) of Medicine Hat, AB, Hank (Nadine) of Moncton, NB, and Yancy (Melissa) of Chipman, NB as well as numerous grandchildren, the eldest being Joseph Duncan Mugford, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Survived by one brother, Bob (Mildred) of Fredericton, NB.

In addition to his parents, Duncan was predeceased by his wife Ann-Marie (nee Skehen). 

Duncan was a Korean War Veteran, Corp of Eng, up until his retirement in 1977.

Many will remember him as the Walmart greeter at the Regent Mall for over 10 years. In his spare time, he loved to work as a small engine mechanic. He was passionate about his barber shoppers group, River Valley Chorus, which he sang lead for 42 years, as well as with the Saint John Men's Chorus. 

For decades, you could find him on weekends, guitar-in-hand, playing with his buddies. Since 2014, the year he met Shirley, they embarked on a journey of enjoying many summers in their RV, and camping with their friends with the Fundy Coast Campers group. 

As per Duncan's wishes, there will be no funeral service. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 11:00 am at St Williams Catholic Church in St. Martins, NB. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Duncan can be made to the St William's Catholic Church in St. Martin's, NB and would be apprectiated by the family.
