Obituary of Danica Anne Childs

The family is heartbroken to announce the passing of Danica Anne “Dani” Childs on March 9, 2024 in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Born on September 19, 2005, she was the daughter of Stephen Childs and Michelle LaDouceur.

Danica, affectionately nicknamed Angel throughout her childhood, truly embodied the essence of her nickname, not only on Earth but now as an angel in Heaven. Her radiant spirit and boundless love for her family and friends were her defining traits, always making those around her feel cherished and significant. Danica's passion for singing and painting, her joyful adventures with loved ones, and her adoration for animals, especially her beloved cat Bean, painted the picture of a vibrant life filled with simple joys and deep connections. She was a great example of determination. She never shied away from life's hurdles but faced them head-on with courage and resilience. She was set to graduate from Leo Hayes High School this year and had plans of becoming an educational assistant to support other students in need. She also held a passion for her modelling career that she had recently started. Danica's legacy is one of love, light, and inscribing positivity into every heart she touched.

Dani will be missed by her parents, Michelle LaDouceur (Andrew Wood) and Stephen Childs (Caroline Purdy); siblings, Lyxie, Brieanna, and Connor; step siblings, Jonathan, Chelsea, Ceilidh, Emma, and Jackson; grandparents, John and Gwen Childs, and Donald LaDouceur; girlfriend Lilly Gesner, as well as many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

A celebration of Dani’s life will be held at McAdam’s Funeral Home on Monday, March 18, 2024 from 2:00 to 6:00 pm, with a memorial tribute beginning at 2:30pm. Dani’s favourite colour was pink, feel free to wear bright colours in her honour.
