To be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord, till we meet again Jim. You will be missed by many but you left me with two important words that have carried me through a pile of circumstances. I will always be grateful for your obedience and gentle spirit. I'll be watching for you in the cloud of witnesses brother.

Dear James,
We are in this present life missing you… but we shall not always miss you. We know that the Apostle Paul suffered continuously and it is very difficult to get our heads wrapped around why that happens to good people.
Your lived testimony means so much to so many people. I remember one Canada Day evening that we went down to the park on the water in Fredericton. So many people came up to you and expressed their thankfulness and love to you for who you were, and what you had done for them. Thank you for being a living epistle where God placed you.
There are two people that I have met over the years who lived out life as I imagine Jesus did. You are one of them. Elisha begged Elijah for a double portion of his anointing. If you could somehow impose on God to give me a double portion of your anointing, I would embrace it fully. "If we Live in the Spirit we should also Walk in the Spirit"... not easy to do.
I once heard a minister say, “After the word has been preached we often forget the sermon but we never forget the spirit it was preached in.” We will never forget your spirit or you.

I'm sorry to learn of Jim's passing this morning. We followed Jim on social media & all the work that the Lord enabled him to be involved in. I know my Grand mother (Edith Burtt) & Jim were very close and am sure they are now reunited in Heaven with the Lord. We will be praying for you Fern & the family in the days to come that God's Peace will be with you during this difficult time of loss.1 John 3:1-2
“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.” Paul, Josie, Dionna & Sondra Emery - (Margaret Burtt son).

I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of my dear friend, Rev. Jim Lewis. His impact on our community and beyond is immeasurable, and his loss leaves a void that will be felt by many. Jim's dedication to his ministry and his unwavering love for people were evident to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
His caring heart and gentle spirit touched the lives of countless individuals, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and faith that will endure for years to come. While we mourn his passing here on earth, we take solace in the belief that he is now at peace in heaven, reunited with loved ones who have gone before him.
My heartfelt sympathy and condolences go out to Jim's family, friends, and the entire Fredericton community during this difficult time. May we all find comfort in the memories we shared and in the knowledge that Jim's spirit will live on in the lives he has touched.

I remember brother Jim Lewis, very, very well. I used to Attend My Street, Cathedral in the early years, and approached him about volunteering at the shelter. I don’t know what he was thinking when a legally blind person with a white cane approached him about the shelter as a volunteer, but I do know that I did go down, and Jim took me on a tour of the shelter, and I memorized every step soon working there sometimes all night, long, and sometimes all day long, Jim was a great encouragement and a wonderful man of God and friend. I will truly miss this man. He had true love of God in his heart not just for his fellow believers, but also for every single person that came through those doors. Family surviving members I offer my deepest respects prayers, thoughts, and condolences at this difficult time.
There will be some deep boots and heavy shoes to fill even now. Brother Jim, I look forward to meeting you in heaven soon when the rapture comes. I can only imagine now that your faith has become sight. what a sight it truly is, and one day that I will be there too. Rest in peace Soldier of the Cross of Christ, your battle is over
