Obituary of Adelard Joseph Doucet
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Adelard Joseph Doucet announce his passing on July 1, 2024 at Pine Grove Nursing Home, Fredericton. Born on December 3, 1925 he was the son of the late Helene (Pitre) and Isidore Doucet and the dear husband of the late Rosalie M. (Daigle) Doucet.
Adelard is survived by his son, Daniel (Lynn) Doucet; granddaughters, Emily and Alicia Doucet; great granddaughter, Alaeyah; brother, Alderic (late Amanda); sisters, Dorina (James Cameren) and Geraldine (Patrick Aresneau); as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his brothers, Guillaume, Alexis, Edmond and Oscar; sisters, Florine Cassie and Elvina Goguen.
Adelard moved to Fredericton in 1949, and soon after met the love of his life, Rosalie, and on January 9, 1951 they were married. He worked for 40 years for Chippin Brothers Meat Market. He was an avid Montreal Canadian Fan.
A visitation will be held at McAdam’s Funeral Home on Thursday, July 4, 2024 from 2:00 to 4;00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church on Friday, July 5, 2024, at 11 am. Fr. Maria Chinnappan will be the celebrant. Interment will take place at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery, Lincoln.
