Obituary of Brenda Joyce Miller

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Brenda Miller (nee Ross) announce that her courageous battle has ended and she went to her heavenly home on September 12, 2024.  She was surrounded by family and enormous love. 

Brenda was born on November 18, 1949 in Sydney, NS to James and Ruby (nee Dixon) Ross.  Brenda was a proud Cape Bretoner, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.  During her youth she loved highland dancing, majorettes and helping her parents with the foster children that went through their home.   Later on, she became a nursing assistant and enjoyed looking after seniors.   When she met her husband, she was teaching down syndrome children how to skate.  Her love and compassion touched all who had the pleasure to know her. 

Brenda is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Roger; children, Michelle (Joe) and David, both from Fredericton; grandson, Mackenzie (Emma), of Melbourne, Australia; brothers, Jim (Denise), of Charlottetown, Martin (Mary T), of Halifax, NS; sisters, Barbara, of Charlottetown, Beverley (Craig), North Sydney, NS.  Several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, including her special cousin, Glenice Ross and special friend, Paula. 

The family would like to Thank, Extra Mural, paramedics, doctors, and nurses who helped with her care. 

A Celebration of her Life will take place on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 3:00 pm from St. Paul's United Church, with Rev. Michelle Armstrong officiating.
