We here in the States mourn the loss of a truly wonderful lady, mother, wife, and friend. We didn't see her often, but our visits were always memorable, either with her alone, or together with her beloved Bill. She is missed. We will continue to donate to the scholarship fund we established in Bill's name, in both their memories. Anyone wishing to donate to the William Turney Fund may do so by sending contributions to :Robert W. Beatty , Director of Development , Rothesay Netherwood School , 40 College Hill Rd , Rothesay, NB E2E 5H1.

My deepest sympathies to the family of Carolyn Turney
I first met Carolyn when we were both little children and Carolyn came to visit her grandfather, Mr.
Ingraham, in Plaster Rock. He lived close to my home and we played together from time to time.
Later on I met her again in Fredericton and we were on a few committees together.
Carolyn was a very generous and talented woman. She will be missed by the community as well as her family.
Sincerely
Myrna (Robertson) Gunter

Condolences to the family. I met Carolyn through the Cathedral Choir, where I sang with Bill in the bass section. Being in a younger age group than they, I heard snippets of what they were involved in but didn't know how much Carolyn was involved in. She was always so friendly when we would meet, at a choir party or at the Cathedral office where she volunteered. I'll miss her presence in the background of my life.

Our deepest condolences to Carolyn's family.
I met Carolyn at one of her challenging work places in Winnipeg. Carolyn was such a positive and happy person and a breathe of fresh air in the workplace. We became friends with Carolyn and Bill and we did so enjoy their company and friendship. We always looked forward to hearing from them, especially their special Christmas card.
Please accept our deepest sympathy.

Sincere condolences to the Turney Family. Carolyn was a lovely lady who had such a great personality.
She never missed a Christmas call to me at my office, she would call and thank me for doing my job
when she had called asking me for information or assistance. . Always so cheerful and complimentary. She and I
had a lot of wonderful conversations over my years in my office. She was a good listener and gave great
advice - life advice! I will miss her calls. I am certain her family will miss her greatly as well. God Bless.

Sincere condolences to the Turney family in the loss of your dear mother. Carolyn and I worked together at the Bishop's Office in Fredericton. She filled in for me on lots of occasions and helped out with Synod. We had many laughs together, especially when we were supposed to be serious!!! She only had to say a particular name of a doll I had knt for my niece and that would set us off laughing. Carolyn will now be with her beloved Bill and they may even start a choir in heaven. Rest in peace Carolyn.

I am surprised that the funeral is not taking place in a church. Carolyn was regularly at the Cathedral for the Eucharist, she was in the choir and worked for a time in the Diocesan Office in Fredericton. May heaven receive her with joy, she has gone home.

It was with extreme sadness that we learned of Carolyn’s passing. We had just called a couple of weeks ago and left a message for her. Carolyn and Bill were such good friends to us when we lived in Fredericton. We were a young couple, with three small children, just trying to make our way. Bill and Carolyn gave us sage advice, provided us much needed adult conversation – and comic relief, and looked out for us. We moved to Alberta in 2006, but always looked forward to receiving our Christmas poem.
In recent years, I have enlisted the services of a lawn mowing company to cut our grass. Their contract finished up at the end of August, and yet, by mid-September, the lawn needed a little trim. I hauled my little red lawn mower out of the shed and put some fuel into the reservoir. It hadn’t been used for over two years; but, it surprised me, sputtering to life on the first pull (I know…you’re wondering where this story is going). It sparked our call to Carolyn, two weeks ago. ….because Carolyn and Bill sold us that lawnmower in the spring of 1998 for $50….they had used it themselves for a decade or so prior to moving into their apartment. We couldn’t afford a new lawnmower and Carolyn and Bill decided that they likely wouldn’t be needing it anymore themselves. Bill even regaled us with stories of mowing his lawn well after dark, much to his neighbours complaints…he argued he couldn’t see the lawn anyway, so what did it matter!
We will cherish our fond memories of Carolyn, along with our already locked in memories of Bill. ....Particularly when we mow our lawn. Rest in peace, together.

Dear Family
Carolyn was like a BIG sister to me, as she lived right next door to our house when I was young. I have many fond memories of back to school parties being held at her house. In fact I still have scars on my knees from being swarmed and stung by many hornets on the porch. We always received pencils, erasers and a scribbler. I was there when she met and married Bill. What an exciting time for me. I loved seeing all of the beautiful wedding gifts laid out. She and my Dad had a joke about the number 32 (her mark on a course) and it was an amount to do with her wedding too. Carolyn's laugh was infectious and I always knew we would find something to laugh about when I saw her on my visits home. I have so many beautiful memories of Carolyn. She loved my family and was SO KIND and thoughtful to my Mum (Margaret Gorman) as well. My thoughts and prayers are with you all as your journey through your grief. May you find comfort in knowing others loved Carolyn. Sharon (Gorman) Ciebin , Coquitlam BC

Dear Family,
With a broken heart, I extend my deepest sympathy to you all. Carolyn was our next door neighbor and, from our earliest years, became my closest friend. Always in our home, she became one of our family. Our school years were delightful and I had the privilege of acting in drama festivals with Carolyn, who would become, a talented actress. It was an honor to be in her wedding party and, although our lives took different paths, we never lost touch. In our retirement years, it was such a delight to reconnect and reminisce about our "To Kill A Mockingbird" childhood. A free spirit, she was extremely talented with a zest for life which was contagious. Everyone she met loved her-------her laughter will remain with us all forever. She was, indeed, the "wind beneath my wings." She had faith which was insurmountable and faced her final days with such strength and courage. May you all find peace in your beautiful memories. Rest in peace, sweet Carolyn, until we meet again. Love and Prayers, Diane

Sending my sincere and heartfelt condolences to Carolyn’s family at this difficult time. She was a treasure to all of us who knew her and called her friend, and because of this, will be so very missed. Her light shone brightly in this world, and I suspect her light will continue to shine through her daughters and son and grandchildren … May she rest in peace and rise in glory, and may her family lean on our Lord’s strength and comfort and peace through this time. This act might be finished but the play continues in a brand new life! Bless you with joy, Carolyn, my dear friend.

It has been my privilege the past two years of assisting Carolyn as she recovered from hip surgery and finding all roads that lead to nowhere, where we laughed at our adventures. She will be missed by her children and grandchildren which I have come to know better. Sleep well my friend, may you know the peace you so well deserve. I shall miss you dearly. Judith MacAusland
