Obituary of Raymond George Gallant
The family is sad to announce the passing of Raymond “Ray” George Gallant on October 22, 2024 at Brunswick Hall, Shannex, Fredericton, New Brunswick. Born on July 19, 1949 in Rexton, New Brunswick, he was the son of the late Cyprien and Essie (Babineau) Gallant.
Ray will be missed by his three daughters, Natacha (Christopher Granter), Josée (John Rajman), and Mélanie; granddaughters, Sophie and Clara; siblings, Bobby (Claudine) and Joanne, as well as several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Ray will be fondly remembered for his deep love of warm weather, his frequent trips to Florida, and his passion for cars—despite the notorious 'money pit,' his ill-fated Bricklin. Above all, Ray will be cherished for his amiable nature, practical wisdom, and grounded sensibility. He enjoyed a long and successful career in public service, but it was his unwavering love and dedication to family and friends that truly defined his life.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the nurses, staff and doctors at Brunswick Hall, Shannex, for their kindness and care through this difficult time. You went above and beyond, and our appreciation can not be expressed enough.
A memorial service will be held at St. Dunstan's Catholic Church on Saturday, October 26th, 2024 at 2:00 pm with Fr Shawn Dailey as celebrant. Interment will take place following the service in the Hermitage Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of the donor's choosing would be appreciated by the family.
