Wendy, and family: I regret that was sick and could not attend. Ken was a bright light in our Fellowship, a clever and thoughtful man who taught me to be more gentle with myself. May the Spirit of Life remain with your family.

I've known Ken for only a few years through his association with The Unitarian Fellowship of Fredericton. He impressed me with his intellect, humour and his working to make the world a better place.

I was so sorry to hear of Ken's passing. I have fond memories from years past of Ken walking over to Barb and Ray's house in his slippers, no matter the weather, and enjoying his funny stories. I give you my sincere condolences, Wendy, Kristy and Jamie.

My deepest condolences to the family. Ken was a great guy and I will always remember the fun we had at the NBPower bowling tournaments. Ken was always the same guy whether you were in a meeting with senior staff or on the golf course with friends. He will be missed.

Memories of a great brother-in-law. In the fall of 1969, brother Rick brought his roommate Ken home to meet the family. While they were our socializing with his girlfriend Wendi and her sister, our sister Wendy spent the weekend wandering about the house muttering various complaints about the useless brother that finally brought home a cute guy but didn't set him up with HER! On the way back to Western, Ken told Rick that next time he'd like to date Wendy, and as they say. The rest is history! We all got married in '72, and in '97 we all travelled to Mexico to celebrate 25th anniversaries over Christmas. Memories of the 50+ years of sharing family fun with Ken & Wendy and their family include golf games, bridge & poker marathons, and lots of food and drink during our many visits back and forth. Deepest condolences to Wendy, James, Christie & family on the loss of your beloved husband-father-boppy. Ken was always fun to be around wherever we were and he will be truly missed by all of his extended family. All our love - Nancy, Barry, Greg & Jeff Matthews

I remember working with Ken at the Food Bank; his strength was a softness at the centre of his being. While some of the volunteers followed the useful guidelines about how and how often to distribute the food, Ken had a slightly different take (which nonetheless fit in overall). If somebody asked for food, Ken gave them what he could of what was available—not too many questions asked, and not too many requests denied. I offer my condolences to his family and close friends.

Dear Wendy and family
We were saddened to hear of Ken's passing. As cousins growing up we shared the Harvey Lake bond and it was so nice to revisit that when we cottaged there again. It was great to see him paddle by in his canoe with a friendly hello and a twinkle in his eye. May he be joining the other great fishermen in the family at a beautiful lake in heaven.
Our condolences to all
Wendy & Bob Hay

I was very privileged to have known Ken for the last twenty years of his remarkable life. I always marvelled at his intelligence and quick wit, but mostly at his amazing mental strength and resilience in dealing with his health issues.

I am sorry to hear about Ken’s passing. During my 20 year tenure at NB Power, I worked with Ken on a number of files, some of sensitive or contentious nature. Ken was a sensible, insighrful, knowledgeable , collaborative and respectful colleague. When I moved to Ottawa, he took time from his busy schedule to come see me and talk about his time in Ottawa, especially at Hillcrest High School.
My warm condolences to the family and friends. May he rest in peace.

I treasured time with Ken, whether it was playing intense Scrabble games, 45s, hanging out at Harvey Lake, or listening to the sound of his laughter. His resilience and perhaps stubbornness served him well in the battle for his health. I have so much respect and admiration for this gentleman - he will be dearly missed by so many. It was an honor and a privilege to know him. Sending all my love and condolences to the family, Paula xoxo
