I will always remember her as a neighbor who went above and beyond, making sure everyone felt welcome and cared for. Whether it was sharing stories over the fence or simply checking in, she made a lasting impact on my life. Ida had a sparkle in her eye when around her girls and their families. A zest for life. She cared a lot about her girls and their partners, grandchildren, We first met at a family gathering at Deana’s new home in Kanata. Her fiancé, my son Shane, was being introduced to her. Shortly afterward Ida took me aside and woman to woman, sought assurance than my son was a good man. A Mother, looking after her grown professional level daughter, from a place of love. That was Ida.
