Obituary of Carol Margeson

It is with sadness that the family of Carol Margeson announces her passing at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at the age of 81. Born in River Hebert, NS, on July 16, 1943, she was the wife of the late Kenneth Margeson.

Carol leaves behind her sons, Danny Brooks and John Bryant; daughters, Debra Brooks, and Tania Stanley (Shane); stepdaughter, Penny Margeson; grandchildren, Adrianna, Ashley, Daniel, Jacqulyn, Jessica, Justin, and Lisa; sisters, Pearl Gathercole, Amy Kren and Thelma Swan (Bill); sister-in-law Donna; and many special nieces and nephews.

Carol was also predeceased by her parents, Hallet and Minnie (Jordan), raised by Thomas and Clara Rector. Predeceased by her stepson Kenny Margeson, and siblings: Doris (Brenton), Gornal (Lisa), Leith (Margaret), Reginald (Cynthia), Ronald (Yvonne), Thane (Christine), and Wendell.

Carol attended school in Amherst, NS. She was a homemaker, babysitter, chambermaid, and waitress. She often reminisced about working at Laura Secord. She enjoyed chatting with staff at local stores, joking and teasing. She loved dancing and music, and her favorite song was Blue Christmas by Elvis. She loved lobster, sea shells, Bingo, and enjoyed story telling about items at thrift shops.

Visitation will be held at McAdam’s Funeral Home in Fredericton, NB on Saturday, December 28, at 10 am followed by a service in the funeral home chapel beginning at 11 am. Please note that due to allergies the service will be a scent free environment. For those who wish, donations in Carol’s memory may be made to a local food bank or CMHA.
