She was a very kind, generous, fair, etc. person &, an awesome teacher! She will be missed! Take care! Stay safe! Yours sincerely, Tammy Coughlan.

Dennis and Family.... Sincere sympathies in the loss of your Mother.... I had the privilege of being one of her students and have many fond memories of her and the family. Just last week I came across a couple of notes she wrote to me over the years. She always remembered me when we'd meet while shopping and always had a smile. I suspect each of her students can say the same thing. She was one of the best! Susan

Dearest Dohertys, Such a wonderful lady. I always enjoyed seeing Marg, whether it was in her yard, at the farm and later at Windsor Court. So happy and sweet with a loving smile made any encounter I had with Marg so wonderful. I still have the little Nun ceramic jewellery holder from my first Communion. The quilt I won from St. Dunstan's that Marg worked on will hold a special place as well. I know that the special memories you folks have will be a great comfort.. Prayers and my thoughts are with you all, Maureen, Danny, David and Dennis and families. Anna & Harry

Bonnie told me of your mother's passing. I was very sorry to hear of your loss. Our parents enjoyed each other's company so much. When Mom and Dad were sick, I remember your mom being so supportive. In happier times, I recall visiting your folks at their place in Florida. Your dad let my girls each pick an orange from their tree. They thought that was so neat. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with your family.

My sincerest condolences to the family of Mrs. Margaret Doherty. A great lady, neighbour and the best grade six teacher of all time! To her credit, she took the time to have a direct and private conversation with me about my remaining school career at the end of grade six. I remember her words to this very day. Because of her push and guidance I successfully flourished in school and beyond. THANK YOU Mrs. Doherty! Great pictures in today's Gleaner. May she rest in peace.

I am so sorry to hear of the death of your mother. I also contacted my sister in Ontario to tell her about your mom, and we took time to recall our memories of her as our teacher in 1972 and 1973. Please feel free to share this with your family. Our mother had died very quickly from breast cancer in 1970 in Moncton, NB where we had been living. She was 35 years old and had passed away only 6 months after her diagnosis and initial surgery. You can only imagine how devastating that was for my sister and I, and our 2 brothers. I was 9 years old and my sister was 8. Less than a year later we moved from Moncton to Fredericton and away from the community that had been a support to us and we went to Priestman Street School. I am only telling you this to emphasize what it meant to us when we had your mom as a teacher during an extremely vulnerable time in our childhood. Your mother was so kind. She provided us a safe place to learn where we felt nurtured and cared for. Even at that young age, I intuitively realized through her actions that she understood that I was sad and grieving, and she went out of her way to show that she cared and wanted to help. I was so grateful to have her for a teacher, and she, like many others, made this life transition just a little easier. She was a wonderful woman and teacher, and for the gift she gave me and my sister, I would like to thank you. My condolences to you and your family. I know there is a place in heaven that has been filled by your mother. Hugs. Heather
