Obituary of Sava Barudzija

It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Sava Barudzija, in Fredericton on Monday, October 18, 2021. Born on December 1, 1962, he was the son of the late Savo and Bosiljka Barudžija. Sava immigrated to Fredericton in 1996 with his wife Branka and daughter Gorica. One year later their second daughter Gorjana was born. Sava worked at Natural Resources Canada where he developed lifelong friendships with his coworkers. Many people may also know Sava from the Boyce Farmers Market as he was part of the bread making duo who created "The Perfect Loaf". Sava loved being active and spending time outside, skiing, and playing tennis. In recent years he also developed a passion for sailing and hiking. He will be immensely missed by his wife Branka (Ikonić) Barudzija, his daughters Gorica and Gorjana, his siblings Slavica and Mladen, his nieces and nephews, the Juričić, Barudžija, Tanasić, Stanisić, and Ikonić families, the family cat Max, and all of his other family and friends. A visitation will be held at McAdam's Funeral Home on Saturday, November 6, 2021 from 1:00 - 4:00 pm, with tributes read at 2:00 pm. Due to current provincial regulations, proof of vaccination and identification will be required for entry to the gathering.
