Alexis and Matthew, your mom was one of the most gracious people that I ever met. She Loved her game of bridge and she loved the two of you. Whenever we played she always spoke of the two of you and how proud she was of you. Brian, you brought her so much joy in the last few years. I hope to see you back at the club when I return to Fredericton.

I am so heartbroken with the news of your mother's passing. She was a great teacher, and friend and very close friend of my father's. Helen was my resource teacher in grade two, and taught me a lot and made me want to be a writer (which I have done a lot of for our two news papers on PEI). Helen will certainly be missed, but will be in great company in heaven with a lot of her friends from Elm Street and of course with your father. My deepest sympathies Alexis and Matthew. I hope you know how much your mother was loved by me and many other students and friends. RIP Helen say hi to my dad for me %u2764%uFE0F

Helen had a warm and caring nature, which endeared her to others who were lucky to have known her. Her compassion was evidenced by her dedication to easing the burden of grandmothers in Africa, who are raising their orphaned grandchildren, whose parents died from AIDS, through the Stephen Lewis Foundation. This included helping others in their community by providing education on prevention and access to medical treatment. She inspired a lot of us to join her in this cause. She was loved by her co-workers and I was one of them. I am shocked and saddened by her death and want her family to know she was cherished. My sincere condolences in your loss.

Brian, Alexis and Mathew, We are very sad that Helen passed away so young and we are sending you our deepest condolences. She was a beautiful friend! We will remember Helen as a kind and loving friend who hosted us at her cottage in PEI, the golfing, the Lennie Gallant music and the Sequence while having a glass of wine. Brian and Barbara Trenholm posted a condolence
We were saddened to hear of Helen's passing. To lose someone so very special so soon is such a significant loss. She truly was an incomparable person who loved and lived life to the fullest. That message came through loud and clear in the poignant remembrances shared in this afternoon's celebration of life. Helen came into our lives through her relationship with Brian and we consider ourselves so very fortunate to have known here--she was a joy to spend time with and we shared much laughter and friendship over the last --for too short--five years. Our thoughts and sympathies are with Brian, as well as his and Helen's families, as they learn to live life without her in the days and months to come. May you find some peace in the cherished memories you have of your lives together and know that she will be watching over you from her new vantage point as a special angel in heaven.--Brian and Barbara

I met Helen only a few years ago, being fortunate enough to be a Fernwood cottage neighbour. I often thought what an inspiration she was, watching her ready for her regular golf matches or walking to the ocean for her frequent swims. Always an inviting friend who tolerated our noisy kids! I will miss our summer chats sitting on the deck, enjoying the breeze and the serenity of the cottage. Rest easy and take care.

Alexis, Matthew, Eloise I am so saddened to learn of Helen's passing. I learned so much from her as a mentor to us who carried on her Summerside G'Ma group after she moved. I also very much enjoyed her joyous company. I'm so happy to read here that she had become a real life G'Ma to her own precious granddaughter who will carry her grandmother's love and spirit with her throughout her own life. As will you carry Helen's love in your hearts and souls. My deepest sympathy. Anne
