Obituary of Reida Elizabeth Woodside

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Reida Elizabeth Woodside on December 17, 2021. Born in St. Stephen, NB, on September 2, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Reid and Sydney (Brooks) Woodside. Reida graduated nursing school and then later on became a teacher for nursing. She taught nursing in a few different places, but in 1985 she started teaching as an UNB Professor for nursing. This continued until her retirement in 2011. Always keeping active in her community, Reida was very involved at Brunswick St. Baptist Church and York Care Center. Health was important to her, and she could be found walking throughout Fredericton to keep her fitness. She is survived by her brother Sydney and several extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents, Reida was predeceased by her brother Willie and sister Blanche. A graveside service will take place in the spring. For those who wish, donations in Reida’s memory may be made to Brunswick St. Baptist Church or a charity of the donor’s choice.
