Obituary of Ian Alexander H. Anslow
It is with great sadness that the family of Ian Anslow announce his passing on December 24, 2021, at the Oromocto Public Hospital. Born on June 26, 1942, in Campbellton, NB, Ian was the loving husband of the late Elizabeth Anslow (nee MacFarlane).
He is survived by his children, Heather Anslow of Dubai, UAE, Stacy Pierce (Joel) of Kincardine, NB and Rob Anslow (Carrie) of Saskatoon, SK; voice of reason and granddaughter, Darian Anslow (Nathan) of Fredericton, thirteen additional grandchildren; brother, John Anslow of Campbellton, NB; nieces, nephews, cousins and his incredible friend to the end, Mike Burris.
In addition to his wife, Elizabeth, Ian is predeceased by his sister, Ruth Anslow Lavoie.
Ian retired from the NB Department of Corrections but later worked an "I won’t drive Liz crazy because I’m retired" job at Home Hardware. He will be deeply missed by his morning coffee crew who met every day, no matter the weather, at the Woodstock Road Tim’s. Cheers to you, raise a coffee!
The fall meant travels to The Camp at Craven’s Gulch, his happy place, where pleasures were simple. He loved animated discussions with the boys and bartending but also just quietly reading a book or napping, cozy and warm inside, while rain or snow pelted the metal roof.
In recent years, he loved spending time in Campbellton with his brother and sister, sitting on the veranda, chatting with neighbours, watching the antics of stray cats and other goings on.
The family are sincerely grateful to the staff of Oromocto Hospital for their care and support, Matthew, Tracey and Dr Reid, a heartfelt thank you.
There will be no visitation or service, by request. For those who wish, donations in memory of Ian may be made to the Fredericton SPCA.
