Obituary of Ivan Ernest Wood

It is with great sadness that Ivan's family announces his passing on January 29, 2022, at Orchard View Long Term Care Home, Gagetown, NB. Born on November 16, 1934 in Shirley Settlement, NB, Ivan was the son of the late George & Sarah (Lindsay) Wood. Ivan is survived by his loving wife Beverly (Blizzard); daughter Jill (late Tim Bennett); sons Peter (Katherine) and James (Krista); sister Bonnie Heath (Ken). He is also survived by grandchildren Benjamin Bennett, Samuel, Sarah, Madeline, and Cameron Wood & several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 5 brothers Cecil, Douglas, Jackie, Joseph, Kenneth and 7 sisters Elaine, Audrey, Alma, Helen, Glenna, Verna and Pat. Ivan was a dedicated member of the Oromocto Fire Department for over 32 years. He will be remembered as a devoted family man who loved the outdoors, be it hunting, fishing or gardening. A private graveside service was held at Forest Hill Cemetery on Friday, June 24, 2022.  Arrangements were entrusted to McAdam’s Funeral Home. Everyone’s thoughts, prayers and kind gestures have been deeply appreciated by the family.  They especially want to thank the staff at Orchard View for the excellent care given to Ivan.
