Wallace was my long-time colleague in the UNB History Department, and he and Paula were excellent friends to Glenda and me over the years. He introduced me to the fascination of Loyalist scholarship, snuff, Glenfiddich, Famous Grouse,and Haggis(I have long since forgiven him for that last). I admired Wallace for more reasons than I can easily articulate here without falling into sentimentality. But it boils down to the fact that Wallace was a man who just Knew How to Live, as few people do. And in doing what he knew how to do so well, he helped some of his genius for doing it rub off on others. Glenda and I extend heart-felt condolences to all the family.
