So sorry for your loss. Your father was a valued friend and colleague of my father's. And I so enjoyed his tutorials when I was a student at UNB. I remember him as such fun and also very kind.

My deep condolence to all family members of Wallace. We have been colleagues since 1968, and shared some common interests and taste in wine. We joined our mutual friend Graeme Ross to form a wine-lsting company for some years. We were also neighbors at Parkland for three years and shared a few dinners together.

Happy memories come flooding back of the annual Brown-Nicki picnic at Mactaquac: 4 parents, 8 kids, and 2 dogs. Every occasion spent with Paula and Wallace was immensely enjoyable and marked by spirited conversation. Despite the loss of Paula, Wallace made the best of his solitary state and continued to be a raconteur par excellence. In his last weeks, Wallace faced death with remarkable equanimity and his customary wry humour. We will miss him.

Our deepest condolences on the loss of Wallace. I (Gary) knew him as a colleague in the department of history, and I learned a great deal from him about beer, wine, and spirits. Not to mention life. I was honoured to have been able to have a few visits with him at his apartment in the last few months. We will miss him. Gary Waite and Kate Hayward

Wallace was my long-time colleague in the UNB History Department, and he and Paula were excellent friends to Glenda and me over the years. He introduced me to the fascination of Loyalist scholarship, snuff, Glenfiddich, Famous Grouse, and Haggis(I have long since forgiven him for that last). I admired Wallace for more reasons than I can easily articulate here without falling into sentimentality. But it boils down to the fact that Wallace was a man who just Knew How to Live, as few people do. And in doing what he knew how to do so well, he helped some of his genius for doing it rub off on others. Glenda and I extend heart-felt condolences to all the family.

Great loss of a unique person who could wax eloquent on any topic. His ( and Paula's) dinners were exceptional a follow up dram made them memorable. Wallace's interlect made him an interesting person to spend a couple of hours and a couple of whisky with. We miss him. Heartfelt condolences. Jean & Rod

Dear Catherine, Both your father and mother were very warm and charming people. For a time, Wallace attended Friday lunches at the Palate with Francisco and a group of retired UNB professors and friends. Francisco enjoyed the addition of your father's company very much. Please accept our sincere condolences to you, your sister and brothers. Pam Gomez

My sincerest condolences to the extended Brown Family upon learning of the passing of Wallace. I credit him with my passion for understanding the history of politics to prevent repeating the same mistakes after he gifted me 'The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich' when he was my Professor at UNB. I'll pour one out for Wallace and Paula for a life well-lived filled with love. My thoughts to you all.

Sincere condolences. Wallace taught me at UNB when I was in the honours history program. We had some epic port, whiskey and beer fuelled seminars that I'll always remember. He was truly a great guy
