Obituary of Barbara Ann Gordon
It is with sadness that the family announce the passing of Barbara Ann Gordon on March 28, 2022, at the Oromocto Public Hospital. The last member of her immediate family of 10, Barb was born on November 12, 1938 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, daughter to the late George and Mabel (Evans) Hartlen, and wife of the late Stanley Gordon.
Barb and Stan loved to travel, spending three years in Europe before they started their family. Paris left its imprint on Barb’s heart for the rest of her life. Returning to Canada, her children became the focus of her life, and she dedicated herself to her family. Her door was always open to help anyone in need, supplying everything from a comforting shoulder, to a lovingly prepared meal, to a bed for as long as they needed. Her compassion ended at the card table, however, being a fierce competitor when she and Stan would play against Betty and Ted.
Barb will be missed by her children Paul (Theresa), Doug (Angela), and Lois (Bobby); grandchildren Alyssa (Roger), Lindsay (Kaleb), and Claire; great grandchildren Graydon, Sophia, Roy, Joseph, Tristan, Ryker, Kali, and Keanu; special friends Betty and Ted Ross, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A funeral service will be held at McAdam’s Funeral home in the J.A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at 1:30 pm, with the interment at the Oromocto Pioneer Gardens immediately following the service. For those unable to attend, a live stream of the service will be available at the following link: https://vimeo.com/693632672. In the event of technical difficulties, a recording of the service will be available at the same link the following day.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada would be appreciated by the family.
