Obituary of Allan Rogers Donaldson

Allan Rogers Donaldson, English professor and author, passed from Fredericton, on April 8, 2022. Allan was born in Taber, AB, in 1929. He grew up in Woodstock, NB, and spent his professional life at UNB in Fredericton. 70 years ago, he married his life long partner, Marjory Rogers. In retirement he wrote, gardened, travelled and talked. He is predeceased by his parents Allan Donaldson and Daisy Rogers, and his brother Paul. He will be missed by his wife Marjory, his son Norman, his daughter-in-law Saroja, his grandson Narayan, and his many friends. Generous himself, Allan was always aware that, as a poor child, he achieved success due to the generosity of others. Contributions to a scholarship or bursary fund like the Allan Donaldson Scholarship at UNB or the Beaverbrook Scholarships would be an appropriate way to remember him. Memorial and interment to follow at a later date.
