Obituary of Mary Somers

With heavy hearts, the family of Mary Florence Somers (née Holland) announces her passing after a brief illness, at the age of 89. Born January 21, 1933 in the former Camden Township, Ontario, she was a daughter to the late Gladys (Down) and Howard W. Holland. Mary was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed golfing, bowling and attending the Dusty Sneakers program at the YMCA. Mary is survived by sons, Steven, James (Paula), and Shane (Tracey); sister, Joyce Owens; brother, Donald (Glennes) Holland; and grandchildren, Jennifer, Trevor, Chloe, Bradley, and Isaak Somers. Besides her parents, Mary was predeceased by her husband, James Kevin (Ken). Visitation will be held at McAdam’s Funeral Home, 160 York St., Fredericton, NB on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1500 Hanwell Rd, Fredericton, NB, on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at 11:00 am with Fr. Arockia Dass Chinnappan as celebrant. Donations in memory of Mary may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
