Obituary of Catherine Gmah PLEASE NOTE SERVICE CHANGES

Please be advised that Catherine's funeral service has been postponed. Daughter of Phillip Weah and Esther Gmah, sister of Arene Gmah, passed away on March 12, 2020 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Catherine was born on January 5, 2000, in the Ivory Coast, West Africa. Catherine came to Canada along with her brother Arene and her parents in July, 2016. She was a grade 12 student at Fredericton High School at the time of her passing. Catherine enjoyed many activities offered at the Multicultural Association and was known for her incredible dedication to dance and volunteerism. She had many aspirations, one of which was becoming a hair stylist. Catherine is survived by her family in Fredericton, as well as siblings residing in the United States and Africa. The family wish to thank the organ donor, doctors, nurses and support staff of the VG Hospital (Halifax), the DECH, Fredericton Downtown Community Health Centre and the Superstore Pharmacy on Smythe St. for their dedication and compassion for Catherine. The funeral service which was scheduled for Saturday, March 21st, 2020 at 11:00 am from Christ Church (Parish) Church, has been postponed due to the current health recommendations. Details regarding the memorial service and reception for the greater public will be announced at a later date Donations may be made in Catherines memory to the Canadian Liver Foundation or to a charity of the donor's choice.
