To Margo and Brad and familiare my deepest condolences for the passing of your dear father Joe.
I remember him from my early childhood along with your sweet mother Casey, when he worked for my father at Woodstock Engineering. As my father Robert R. Smith called him.....Joe, the best possible engineer and person I've ever met. I saw Joe and Casey only a few times as an adult with my aunt and uncle, George and Helen Andrin but still have a lovely memory of them.
Wishing you the best from Italy, I hope you can take comfort in the fact that your parents had beautiful generous lives and were loved.
Andrea Smith.

I am so very sorry to read about Joe’s passing. He and I met when I was Director of Court Services for the Department of Justice ( many years ago), and he was always so kind. I will always remember his sense of humour, even when things were rough in the government and the service delivery.
I saw Joe just a few months ago at Blackmore’s watch Repair Shop in Fredericton, and we got caught up.
He was his affable and humorous self.
Just a wonderful man.

Margo & Brad,
So sorry to learn of the recent passing of your father- and mother earlier this year. Joe was so deeply devoted to Casey and they often made Sunday visits to my moms home after my father passed. I will always remember your mom with such a sparkle and terrific laugh. Joe and I had some nice long talks in these later years. He so loved to visit you and your families. I hope you find comfort reflecting on great memories together. Sincerely Heather W

Dear Brad, Margo and families
All of us in the Dawkins family are sorry to hear of the passing of your father. Our families go way back to the 1960’s when we lived in the same townhouse complex in a suburb of St John. Both families then moved “up the hill” in Fredericton where a short walk through a wooded area was all that separated our homes. Even though my family moved shortly thereafter to the downtown historic section of the city, the friendship was cemented and the families, especially our parents remained lifelong friends. Both families had summer homes in the Shediac area that also allowed for summer visits.
Although many of the Dawkins children moved away from Fredericton, a trip there often included a visit with your parents. We have so many fond memories and are very sorry for your loss. You are in our thoughts.
Lorraine Floody (nee Lori Dawkins)

Joe was a North Star for three generations of "Grant boys" and families (from my parents Milton and Lynne, to me and my brothers, to our children). Across many decades of summers at Cap-Brûlé, Joe’s indefatigable love for everyday life inspired us all. Our wonderful memories of life with Joe and Elizabeth and their whole family live on, and will be celebrated for years to come!

Our deepest sympathies on the loss of your father.
Your Dad and Mom were wonderful Brule people, very Community minded and such great supporters of bettering Brule. We will miss seeing your Dad heading to the beach, having a great conversation along the way and the many emails and phone calls we shared on all the issues of the day. We were blessed to know them both.
Always admired and never forgotten at Brule,
