Obituary of Manley Eldon Miller
Manley Eldon Miller, 83, of Upper Kingsclear, NB passed away peacefully at Pine Grove Nursing Home on December 1, 2023.
Manley was born on November 1, 1940 to Eldon Wilbur Miller and Agnes Amy (Morecraft) Miller in Magaguadavic, NB. The younger brother of Marie Vivian and older brother of Sheila Ann.
Manley is survived by his wife of 60 years, Rita Kathleen (Gallagher) Miller; sons, Perry Manley (Karen) of Hamilton, ON and Corey W.E. (Janice) of Upper Kingsclear, NB; beloved grandson, Manley TRAVIS Gerald Miller of Upper Kingsclear, NB; and sister Sheila Crandall (Phil) of Fredericton, NB, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Anyone who knew Manley, knew that he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather to his small family. Manley was predeceased by his parents, Eldon and Agnes; sister, Marie Vivian (Miller) Brewer; brother-in-law, Elton Evardus Brewer; in-laws, Earl Norman Gallagher and Annie May (Courser) Gallagher; sister-in-law, Glenna Chessie; brother-in-law, Glen Chessie and sister-in-law Ethel Bunker.
Early in life, Manley learned the importance of hard work and he instilled that same work ethic in his sons. He worked in the woods, as a heavy equipment operator, truck driver, in an auto body shop and finally retired from Fairview Plymouth Chrysler after many years.
Manley was a long-time member of Orange Lodge, the Upper Kingsclear Fire Department as well as the Upper Kingsclear Baptist Church.
In his spare time, Manley enjoyed gardening, working in his shop, and listening to music.
Visitation was held at the Upper Kingsclear Baptist Church, 15 Mazerolle Settlement Road, Upper Kingsclear, NB, on Tuesday, December 5th, 2023 from 1:00 pm until 2:30 pm followed by a funeral service at 3:00 pm with Rev. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pine Grove Nursing Home or the Upper Kingsclear Baptist Church in memory of Manley.
The family would like to thank the amazing staff at Pine Grove Nursing Home for the support and kindness they have shown Manley and Rita over the past 15 months. Manley had never carved a pumpkin or won at Bingo till he went there, and he delighted in the activities and enjoyed chatting with the very caring staff.
Father, you are now at peace but you will live on forever in our hearts. We love you so much. Rest in peace.
